The Team

Mahati Ramachandra, Founding Member
Mahati is a 23 year old artist from Bangalore, India. They currently create digital artwork but started out with traditional pencil sketches and water colours. As a child, she was always fascinated with art and ensured every corner of the house was filled with miniature art projects made out of anything she could get her hands on. Their primary interest in the scientific field is microbiology. She hopes to spread her appreciation for the beautiful universe of microbes that surround and inhabit us throughout her illustrations. Art for them, is a medium to create a world unlike their own as a form of appreciating the multitude of possibilities that inhabit the human mind.

Lari warshong (she/her), Founding Member
A self-taught artist, Lari Warshong has been dabbling in acrylics and canvas before making the (highly convenient) switch to digital art. She is especially inspired by surrealism and fantasy art, and enjoys stretching reality and scientific laws in her pieces. Influenced by abstraction, space and technology, she looks forwards to exploring different artists and their views, and expanding both her ideas and expression through art. Lari is also a singer and musician, and enjoys exploring different forms of performance art, such as theatre and dance.

Ameya menon (she/her), founding member
Ameya is a self-taught artist who has been drawing for as long as she could pick things up in her hands. While she now works primarily digitally, she started off with traditional art, tending to favor charcoal and oils. She spends most of her time trying to achieve as traditionally-painted a look as possible with her digital style of work. With a formal background in biology, she hopes to combine her keen interest in the brain and cognition with her passion for art and create things that reach people. When she’s not drawing, you’ll often find her raving about movies, or playing the doting aunt to the greatest cat in the world.

varshini krishnakumar (she/her), founding member
Varshini is a 22 year old artist that has spent most of her life creating art. Starting off with traditional oil and pastel art, her work has grown to involve more digital styles like animating. Her passion for biology began at a young age, and she is interested in all things earth science. She is interested in incorporating newer forms of art media with geological and ecological science. Her hobbies include singing, playing the guitar, and re-reading the same two books over and over again. Varshini is currently studying Climate Change and Environmental Policy, and hopes to one day be involved in creating art to visualise research in biological interdisciplinary academia.
